What it actually costs to incorporate in Malaysia

Questions we get

What founders ask about our pricing.

Because choosing is not your job. Which package applies is a fact about your structure — how many directors and shareholders the company has, counting a person once even if they are both — so we look it up rather than ask you to self-diagnose from a table. RM 2,588 for one person, plus RM 300 for each additional director or shareholder.

We would rather show the arithmetic than assert there are none. Incorporation for a one-person company is RM 2,588; the year-one company secretary, registered office, beneficial ownership declaration and annual return add RM 2,580; the first twelve months come to RM 5,168, inclusive of SST. Year two onward is RM 2,580. What sits outside those figures is listed above, at the same size.

No. Almost everything we do is a fixed fee, agreed before the work. Hourly billing pays for slowness. The recurring items are flat figures — company secretary (RM 1,296), registered office (RM 324), beneficial ownership declaration (RM 324) and annual return (RM 636) — and they recur from year one, not year two.

RM 27,000 a year, inclusive of SST, plus a RM 5,000 security deposit, which is refundable and not subject to SST. It covers acting as a Malaysian-resident director of your company: the fiduciary duty, the personal regulatory exposure and the availability that comes with it. It is a separate service from incorporation, not a package upgrade.

Twenty-one more cost questions — which SSM figure is the right one, what year two costs, what a Sdn Bhd costs per year to maintain — are answered in full under cost & pricing answers.
