Can a Sdn Bhd own another Sdn Bhd?

Yes — companies can be shareholders of other companies, and holding-subsidiary structures are common: a parent Sdn Bhd holding operating subsidiaries, or a personal holding company owning your stake. Directors must still be natural persons, and beneficial ownership rules require the real individuals behind the chain to be declared to SSM.

We set up parent-and-subsidiary structures and keep both compliant. If the parent is foreign, expect extra KYC documentation at banking — we prepare that file as part of account-opening support.
