What is a WRT licence and who needs one?
The Wholesale, Retail and Trade licence is required by companies with 50% or more foreign equity operating in distributive trade — retail, wholesale, franchise, restaurants and certain services. Approval comes from KPDN and typically expects paid-up capital of around RM1 million. Wholly Malaysian-owned companies don't need it at all.
