Minimum viable check: pull the SSM profile to confirm the company exists and is active, verify the bank account name matches the registered name exactly, and search for winding-up petitions and litigation against it. The SSM profile alone won't reveal a company with three winding-up petitions and a director disqualified elsewhere.
